Meet us --> Working procedures

Our customers may contact one of us (or more, for multi-lingual translations) by phone or e-mail. Together, we agree upon the appropriate format, deadline, price (by word, line or page (1500 characters with spaces), usually calculated on the target language), special requests, etc.

We receive from our customers the source text either on file (e-mail or FTP), or on paper (fax or fast delivery), or on CD-Rom/floppy disk. If our customer has special terminology requirements, we will be glad to use their references (word lists, previous translations, company documents, TMs or else).

Once the job is assigned, the translator looks for the best terminology using traditional tools (dictionaries) as well as new ones (online dictionaries and Web searches) and, if appropriate, contacts some specialists in the relevant fields.

If appropriate, the translator contacts the customer for a check of whichever terms may need clarification or confirmation.

Once the translation is complete the translator performs further completeness, spell and consistency checks.

If required, the translation undergoes an independent review by another translator of our team or by a specialist in the relevant area.

All translations are delivered within the agreed deadlines. The resulting amount of words / lines /characters with spaces is provided to our customers to allow for a prompt cross-check. If so agreed, the translator returns the originals and the reference materials.

After delivery, the translator is available for further clarification and for minor modifications (to be agreed upon).

In order to ensure the proper terminological and stylistic consistency, all further translations are performed using the glossaries / TMs prepared for previous translations.

Needless to say, any assigned job is dealt with as confidential by our translators.
